Becker County is no longer grooming trails.
The summer of 2011 ULTRA accepted the responsibility to groom 102 miles of snowmobile trails around the Detroit Lakes area. To get this done, ULTRA made an enormous financial decision to purchase a John Deere Track Groomer along with other equipment obtained from the county. The grant monies from the State snowmobile registration and trail permits will now be routed to ULTRA. However, this funding source will not cover all of the expenses. To help make up the difference, ULTRA sells trail sponsorships ranging from $100 to $1000 a season. Professional eye catching signs with sponsor logos are along the trails identifying trail sponsorship. Many local businesses came through for us this year. We thank them for their generous help!
